Plumbing Consultant FAQ

Fees, licensing, turnaround and how independent consulting works.

How much does a plumbing consultant cost in Central Texas?

Typical fees: a written second opinion on a quote runs $195–$450, an on-site home plumbing assessment $395–$795, remodel consulting $650–$2,500, and commercial takeoffs or bid leveling from about $650 per bid package. Industrial advisory is scoped per project or billed hourly. You get a written proposal before any work starts.

Do you install or repair plumbing?

No, and that's the point. We don't sell or install plumbing work, so our recommendations aren't shaped by what we'd make on the job. We tell you what's needed, what it should cost and what to ask for; you hire the contractor you choose.

Are you licensed?

Yes. Our consulting is led by a Texas Responsible Master Plumber. Plumbing licenses in Texas are issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, and you can verify any license at tsbpe.texas.gov.

What areas do you serve?

Central Texas and the San Antonio area. In the Austin metro: Georgetown, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Hutto, Taylor, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, Austin, Manor, Bastrop, Lakeway, Bee Cave, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls, Buda and Kyle. Along I-35: San Marcos, Lockhart, Wimberley and New Braunfels. Around San Antonio: San Antonio, Stone Oak, Alamo Heights, Helotes, Leon Valley, Live Oak, Converse, Universal City, Schertz, Cibolo, Seguin, Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch and Bulverde. Virtual reviews are available anywhere in Texas.

How fast can I get a second opinion?

Most remote quote reviews are delivered in writing within 48 hours of receiving the bid, photos and any video. If you're under a deadline, like an option period or a contractor waiting on a signature, tell us and we'll prioritize.

How do virtual reviews work?

You upload the quote, photos, videos and any reports (sewer camera, leak detection, hydrostatic test). We review them, ask follow-up questions if needed, and send a written summary with a verdict, a fair-price range and questions for your contractor, plus a short call to walk through it.

Can you help my company bid a commercial project?

Yes. We provide plumbing quantity takeoffs, bid leveling, scope reviews and value engineering for general contractors, subcontractors, owners and developers. Send the drawings, specs, addenda and bid date and we'll confirm turnaround.

Do you work on industrial projects?

Yes. Our industrial advisory covers process piping, equipment systems, material analysis and project budgeting for plants and facilities. Where sealed engineering is required, we coordinate with the engineer of record.

Can you help with an insurance claim or a dispute with a plumber?

Yes. We investigate the cause of failure, document evidence and write an independent report for homeowners, builders, adjusters or attorneys. We disclose any prior involvement before taking an assignment.

How do I send you plans or documents?

Use the upload option in your request or reply to our email with PDFs, photos and video links. For large commercial plan sets, a shared folder link works best.

Will you recommend a contractor?

We'll tell you what to look for and help you compare bids, but we don't take referral fees or commissions from contractors or suppliers. That keeps the advice independent.

What if you agree with the contractor's quote?

Then you sign with confidence. Confirming a fair bid is a good outcome, and many contractors appreciate an independent review that backs up their work.
