Water Heater Sizer
Tell us who's showering and how. We'll size a tank by first-hour rating and a tankless by flow and temperature rise, using realistic Central Texas winter inlet temps.
Good to know
Tank or tankless in Central Texas?
Tankless saves space and standby loss and never runs out, but it costs more up front, often needs a gas line upsize, and needs annual descaling in our hard water. A properly sized tank is still the best value for many homes. The right answer depends on gas capacity, venting path and how your household uses hot water.
What inlet temperature should I use?
Use your coldest-month groundwater or surface-water temperature. Central Texas winter inlet water commonly lands in the mid-50s to low-60s °F; we default to 58°F as a planning value.
