Residential questions

Do I need to tell my plumber I'm getting a second opinion?

No. You can send us the quote, photos and video yourself. Many good contractors welcome a second opinion because it builds trust in their bid.

How is this different from a home inspection?

A home inspection covers the whole house at a general level. Our assessment is plumbing-only, done by a master plumber, and goes deeper on pipe materials, pressure, remaining life and realistic repair costs.

Can I move a toilet on a slab foundation?

Usually, but it typically means cutting and trenching the slab, re-establishing slope to the existing drain and re-venting. Plumbing costs for one relocated toilet often land in the low thousands before tile. We'll tell you whether your drain layout makes it easy or painful.

When should I bring you in?

Before plumbing bids go out. The cheapest time to fix a plumbing design issue is on paper; the second cheapest is before the slab is poured.

Is PEX or copper better for a Texas repipe?

Both can last decades. PEX-A is the most common choice in Central Texas: freeze-tolerant, fewer fittings and lower cost. Copper Type L is durable and familiar but costs more and can pinhole in some water conditions. The right answer depends on your water, routing and budget. See our pipe materials comparison tool for the trade-offs.

Is tankless worth it in Central Texas?

It can be for larger households with gas service and room for proper venting, but hard water means annual descaling is not optional, and gas line upgrades can add significant cost. A properly sized tank or heat pump is sometimes the better value.

Is it better to reroute or repair a slab leak?

For a single leak in otherwise healthy pipe, a spot repair can be fine. For copper or older pipe with one leak already, rerouting the line overhead often costs similar and avoids future slab breaks. We weigh it for your specific home.

Do you work for insurance companies or homeowners?

Either. We're engaged to find and document the facts, and we disclose any prior involvement with the property or parties before taking the assignment.
